I use OMNI by Superior Threads. I offer a variety of colors. However, I am spreading my wings to incorporate Glide.
At this time, I do not supply batting. There are batting options available at Raintree Quilting and Joanns. I stongly suggest 100% or 80/20 cotton batting. If you are a seasoned quilter, you know what you like. I would shy away from 100% polyester batting.
I prefer horizontal seams sewn at 1/2" rather than the standard 1/4" seam. It rolls on the frame flatter and keeps the backing fabric from bunching up. If the seam is vertical, there is the risk of the backing bunching and getting distorted on the back of the quilt. Horizontal seams are especially important on thicker fabrics like fleece and Minky.
You've worked hard on your quilt top. Take some extra time to wrap up your piece of art with good, square borders.
1. Measure your quilt top on the left side, middle and right side.
2. Take the average of the 3 measurements and cut your side borders to that size.
3. Pin your border to the top and the bottom of the quilt. Then to the middle.
4. Pin between top and middle and middle and bottom as needed.
Turn quilt, repeat for top and bottom border. Make sure you include the side borders in your measurements across the top, middle and bottom.
Yes! Call me to discuss what you have in mind. I might already have the perfect design. If we need to look around for the perfect design, I will need to purchase the design specific for my Bernina Q24 system. I will pay up to $15 for a design. Any cost above that will be billed to you. I will own the design.
I have purchased from the following sites and have enjoyed the designs -
